CASE STUDY
A brand for the age of agentic finance
Catena is a banking and governance platform for AI agents, a company that can't exist without regulation behind it. The challenge was specific. How do you make something feel like financial infrastructure, not a tool? How do you signal trust when the customer is an AI agent

The Insight
Catena had to look like financial infrastructure built for machines and trusted by humans. Not a tool. A system.
The approach
We opened with discovery to understand Catena's take on products, AI, and finance and landed on the concept of Intelligent Flow. Composability as a visual trait. Systems thinking, made visible. The viewer should think: someone is controlling this. Someone built this properly. A circuit board built for bank infrastructure, with a pulse. Control that doesn't feel like a constraint.
A chromatic fill anchors the system, expressing composability through systematic balance. Bound inside a tile grid, generative, prompt-driven, and modular by design.
The new wordmark gets a customized C, a teardrop terminal lifted from the typeface's own lowercase r. Same weight, same curve, already calibrated. It's the kind of call AI can't make.

The Outcome
Intelligent flow, rendered across every surface. Wordmark, brand kit, social, catena.com. The brand shipped May 20, 2026, the same day Catena announced a $30M Series A and stepped into the agentic finance category.
in the news
